What We Do

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the UN's development agency, advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources. On the ground in 177 countries and territories, we offer global perspective and local insight to help empower lives and build resilient nations.

Our Goals

With rapid economic growth fueled by hydrocarbon wealth, Azerbaijan Republic has joined the ranks of middle income countries and has improved a number of socio-economic indicators. The country is taking a more assertive role on the international stage – it was elected a non-permanent member of UN Security Council for 2012-2014. In this development context UNDP partners with the Government of Azerbaijan to help the country sustain the achievements and propel forward by diversifying economy, improving governance, and enhancing the state of environment.
