Projects and Initiatives
Azerbaijan has ratified almost all essential international documents on the protection of women's rights. However, in Azerbaijan, like in many other countries, there is a gap between legislative acts and their enforcement. UNDP partners with the State Committee for Family, Women and Children’s Affairs to expand women’s participation in the economic and community life, with a focus on rural areas, as well as build the capacities of the Committee's staff in producing qualitative data for evidence-based policy formulation. more
Through this project UNDP works to research capacities of teachers and students of the State Pedagogical University. Upon completion of trainings, they will in turn act as agents for change in traditional gender stereotypes and attitudes throughout the education system. The project also administers a joint research with International Organization for Migration (IOM) on abandoned women, wives of migrant workers, which will be used to design new projects for this population group. more
