  • Inauguration of the Sumgayit SYSLAB Center was held. Sep 13, 2013Today, the SYSLAB Center has been launched in Sumgayit within a joint project of “Promoting Employment and Innovation in Azerbaijan” signed between UNDP and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Mr. Antonius Broek, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative with the representatives from the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population and the Norwegian Embassy in Azerbaijan inaugurated the opening of the Center.

  • Afghan Delegation visits Azerbaijan to increase cooperation in the field of ICTSep 2, 2013A delegation of the Government of Afghanistan headed by Mr. Barialai Hassam, Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technologies visits Azerbaijan for the 1st Meeting of the Working Group on cooperation in the field of ICT between Azerbaijan and Afghanistan. The purpose of the meeting which will take place from 29 August to 03 September is to discuss Azerbaijan’s potential involvement in the development of Afghanistan’s ICT sector, Afghanistan’s current needs in ICT field, identification of focus areas and projects to be implemented in Afghanistan.

  • Azerbaijan will host International Model UN Security Council Aug 21, 2013The Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan and UNDP are co-organizing the country’s first International Model UN Security Council Conference to be held in October within joint project on “Youth Participation in Decision Making and Policy Implementation”. As preparation for the conference, a delegation led by Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport Mr. Intigam Babayev that includes relevant staff of the Ministry and UNDP will be travelling to the UN New York Headquarters on 26-30 August, 2013.

  • Youth Camp on topic “Azerbaijan in 2020” was organizedDec 24, 2012As you know, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in close partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Azerbaijan Republic, implement the joint project entitled “Youth Participation in Decision Making and Policy Implementation". The overall project goal is to empower the young people of Azerbaijan to participate in decision-making more actively by contributing to policy planning and policy outcomes, and to develop their capacity as future leaders and public servants. The project will provide young people with knowledge and skills to identify and advocate for youth-specific outcomes in the state programs and strategies, attract more youth to the civil service and strengthen young people’s capacities to participate at the international fora.
