Women entrepreneurship and youth employment will support Azerbaijan in achieving inclusive growth, development partners say

The Government of Azerbaijan, the US Agency for International Development and the UN Development Programme in Azerbaijan officially opened a Women Resource Center and a SYSLAB Employment Center in Masalli region of Azerbaijan on Thursda. These centers were established in the framework of the joint project on “Economic Empowerment for Enterpreneurship and Employment” which is implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population and the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs. Both centers are located in the Massali Haydar Aliyev Center and are supported by the Executive Authority of Masalli.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon announced today the launch of a first-of-its-kind initiative developed among the six largest communications businesses globally in support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). “Today, the communications industry is taking a historic, first-of-its-kind step to beat poverty, injustice and inequality,” said the Secretary-General, speaking at the Lions Festival of Creativity, Cannes. “The six biggest communications businesses in the world have risen to what some may have said was an impossible test: they have agreed to put their differences aside in support of a joint unique and exciting initiative to advance the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the SDGs.”
