  • Model UN Summer School held in Dashkesan Aug 17, 2015

    On 10-14 August 2015 Youth Training and Leisure Center in Dashkesan hosted Model UN Summer School. The ultimate goal of this School that brought together up to 80 participants from different universities of Azerbaijan, was to foster the interest of youth to international relations and diplomacy, as well as share experience with young diplomats and make them more familiar with UN bodies.

    The 193 Member States of the United Nations reached agreement on the outcome document that will constitute the new sustainable development agenda that will be adopted this September by world leaders at the Sustainable Development Summit in New York.

  • Training session on “Integrated Water Management as a Tool for Adaptation to Climate Change” held Aug 5, 2015

    On August 5-6, a training session was held in Gabala, Azerbaijan, on the theme of "Integrated water management as a tool for adaptation to climate change." The training was organized within the framework of the "Integrating climate change risks into water and flood management by vulnerable mountainous communities in the Greater Caucasus Region", a joint project of the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

  • International Conference on Capacity Development during Public Administration Reforms held in Azerbaijan Jul 10, 2015

    The International Conference on Capacity Development during Public Administration Reforms (PAR) were held in Baku, Azerbaijan on July 9-10, 2015. The conference was organized within the framework of the project “Support to the Civil Service Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in implementation of the Institution Reform Plan within the comprehensive Institutional Building Programme”, funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP Azerbaijan.

    The EU, UNDP and State Border Service of Azerbaijan Republic continue their ongoing cooperation on the “Better coordination of protection of the land border between Georgia and Azerbaijan” project implemented since November 2014.

    It is my great pleasure to join you at this important event, the international conference on Capacity Development during Public Administration Reforms. The conference is organized within the framework of the Institution Reform Plan 3 (IRP3) “Strengthening civil service training in Azerbaijan with a focus on EU affairs”of the Comprehensive Institutional Building (CIB) Program of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) of the European Union. Our meeting today is part of the Project on Support to the Civil Service Commission, which is funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP in cooperation with CSC.

  • Russia and UNDP sign a funding agreement to benefit regional and global development Jun 11, 2015

    UNDP Administrator Helen Clark and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov signed an agreement today that establishes the Russian Federation – UNDP Trust Fund for Development, with initial funding of US $25 million from Russia over the next four years.

  • GIS/GPS training for Forest and Pasture Specialists at Azerbaijan State Agricultural University May 18, 2015

    On 29 April – 06 May 2015, UNDP GEF funded “Sustainable Land and Forest Management in Greater Caucasus Landscape” project provided training on GIS/GPS technologies for forest and pasture specialist (PhD students, teachers)from the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ASAU) in Ganja city.

  • National Training on Integrated Border Management Strategy was held Apr 29, 2015

    In 27-29 April, a national training was organized at the Academy of State Border Service. in the frames of “Better coordination of protection of the land border between Georgia and Azerbaijan” project.

  • Better procurement with a new set of e-tendering Jan 13, 2015

    In October 2011, UNDP launched its efforts to digitalize tender procedures. The ensuing years have seen the spread of this practice throughout UNDP operations all over the world. Through e-tendering, UNDP aims to better serve citizens and businesses in the digital economy, to achieve increased efficiency, cost savings and improved transparency in procurement services.
