Gender assessment and gender sensitive service delivery training were organized by the joint project on Improving Staff Capacity of the Azerbaijan Service and Assessment Network between UNDP and the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This activities was conducted by an international gender expert, Dr. Aysel Vazirova who analysed barriers to economic and social participation of women and girls as well as further produced action oriented recommendations for the State Agency.

In October 2011, UNDP launched its efforts to digitalize tender procedures. The ensuing years have seen the spread of this practice throughout UNDP operations all over the world. Through e-tendering, UNDP aims to better serve citizens and businesses in the digital economy, to achieve increased efficiency, cost savings and improved transparency in procurement services.

UNDP’s Executive Board approved in 2013 a new Strategic Plan to give the organisation a sharper focus in pursuing these goals. A key element is to improve UNDP’s organisational effectiveness in achieving and reporting results, through greater openness, agility and adaptability. Alongside improved management of financial and human resources, this will enable us to deliver higher quality programmes to address development challenges facing the world.
UNDP held first MUN Security Council Conference in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan’s first International Model UN Security Council Conference held on 21-25 October was organized within the joint project "Youth Participation in Decision Making and Policy Implementation" between the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan and UNDP Azerbaijan. This was a time when the Republic of Azerbaijan chaired the United Nations Security Council as a result of election a non-permanent member of the Council. A four-day conference brought together 45 university students and graduates of 15 states currently serving as members of the UN Security Council including Azerbaijan.
