International conference "Azerbaijan 2020: A Look into the Future” was held in Baku to discuss Azerbaijan’s Vision 2020. The conference was co-organized by UNDP together with the Center of Strategic Studies, Azerbaijan Youth Fund and PwC. UNDP has advocated the creation of Vision 2020 to take stock of country’s achievements and to articulate strategic priorities for years to come.
UNDP and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan held the presentation of a new project on “Youth participation in decision making and policy implementation” on September 27, 2012, in Baku. The project support the priorities of the State Program on Azerbaijani Youth in 2011-2015 (SPAY) which emphasizes “the need of promoting youth participation in governance and development of civil society”.
Solid waste management in Azerbaijan is becoming more challenging as the households consume more products and services. UNDP helps the government of Azerbaijan to reform the waste management system and shape more effective policies on handling municipal solid waste. Results of the 3-year project were presented at a national workshop in Baku.
The project's Inception Workshop marked the first event in the framework of the project. Its purpose is to validate project's relevance to national priorities, review the project strategy, and discuss any modifications necessary for the project to achieve its goals and objectives.
