Today, Mr. Aydin Aliyev, Chairperson of the State Custom Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Giorgi Tabuashvili, Head of the Revenue Service of Georgia, Ms. Malena Mard, EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mr. Ghulam M. Isaczai, UNDP Resident Representative in Azerbaijan, and Mr. Niels Scott, UNDP Georgia Resident Representative came together in Tovuz, a rayon of Azerbaijan bordering with Georgia. Participants took part in the Steering Committee Meeting of the project assisting in the development of the border crossing point between the two countries.
UNDP to support Azerbaijan to fulfill its obligation under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change

The project is funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) with a total budget of USD 852 000 and has been prepared in close cooperation between the Ministry and UNDP. The newly signed project will support the Government of Azerbaijan through the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources to continue reporting under the Convention.
Ministry of Agriculture and UNDP launch a new project to conserve and improve agro-biodiversity in Azerbaijan

7 February, 2017 - The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), signed today an agreement to implement a joint project in the field of agro-biodiversity. The project has been set for a five- year period and is co-funded by the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) and UNDP. It will be implemented in the Shaki, Goranboy and Goychay rayons of Azerbaijan.

On 21-22 December, UNDP organized a national training on regulation of Phytosanitary and examination of plants and plant products at Border Crossing Points for the representatives of State Custom Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The training was held in Baku under the project of “Support to the Development of Red Bridge border crossing points between Azerbaijan and Georgia”. The joint project is implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and is funded by the European Union (EU).
