Efficient use of energy and minimising energy loss in residential buildings in the cities of of Ganja and Barda
The demand for energy in the Republic of Azerbaijan is increasing. In order to benefit from global experience, new technologies will need to be introduced for the production of energy.
The current study aims:
- Identify monthly energy (electricity and non-gas) and gas consumption in the residential sector within the boundaries of Ganja City and Barda District Centre.
- Identify energy consumption per individual (or 1 m² of living space) in the residential sector.
- Identify the potential for improved energy efficiency (loss reduction) in the residential sector.
NDC preparation and implementation in Eastern Partnership countries
All Eastern Partnership countries are vulnerable to the effects of climate change, for example through more frequent extreme weather events, significantly raising the importance to reduce emissions and prepare for its adverse effects. The study illustrates the six Eastern Partnership countries’ progress in mitigating climate change and adapting to its effects by introducing climate-sensitive policies and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The Covid-19 pandemic presents an unprecedented global challenge that goes beyond a health crisis, as it is impacting economies and societies in ways that risk derailing development gains. Without urgent actions lives and livelihoods will be seriously compromised, with negative consequences for poverty, inequality and the achievement of Agenda 2030 and its Sustainable Development Goals.
