Online video vlog competition on Climate Change and Population Health

The UNDP-GEF Project Development of Azerbaijan’s Fourth National Communication to the UNFCCC and Second Biennial Reporting is inviting you to take part in the online videovlog competition “Climate Change and Population Health”

The Jury of the Competition

The Organizing Committee of the Competition shall select a jury of 5 people, including an ecologist, director, blogger, psychologist and pedagogue. The list of members of the Jury will be made public at the final stage of the competition.

Theme:  Climate change and Human health

-        Climate change and health risks

-        Climate change mothers and children

-        Climate change and urban and rural population

-        Climate change and extreme heats

-        Health impacts of green spaces

Stages of the Competition:

1st  stage –25 April -10 May

Registration of participants by sending application form to the email vloq.rugim@gmail.com

2nd Stage : 15 May – 15 August

Submission of videovlogs to the vlog.rugim@gmail.com

3rd Stage – 15 August 30[PA3]  September

Assessment and announcement of winners

How to participate:

1-    Fill out an Application Form and register by submitting copy of application to the vlog.rugim@gmail.com by  15th May 2020. If the applicant is not an individual but a group or team, the application form shall be is accompanied by a list of participants.

2-    Once you get a verification message on the registration in the Competition via mail and/or Whatsapp you can start to make video vlog and submit no later than 15 August 2020 to the same email. The video must be unpublished in any public web source.

Follow technical and general requirements  while filming (an average smartphone can be used)

Requirements

Video vlogs to be submitted for the Competition must be shot by phone or video camera with the following parameters:

Video format:

HD FULL (480-1080)

Mini /720

Horizontal (not against light)

Shot with a joystick or trepied

Video vlogs to participate in the online social vlog contest “Climate Change and Population Health” should not exceed 3 minutes.

All video vlogs must be of good quality and well edited.

Video vlogs will be accepted in Azerbaijani, Russian and English languages

Participants:

Students of Secondary General-Education School across the country (including children homes and boarding schools) – all public and private schools.

Participation can be individually or in groups of not more than 7 members in 3 age groups:

1)    8-11 years;

2)    12-15 years;

3)    16-19 years.

Age: The competition is open to children and young from all around the country from age 8 to 19 years.

Language : Applicants are free to choose following languages for vlogs:

Azerbaijani, English  and Russian.

Legal:

The evaluation score can be maximum 15 points with three points for each of the five criteria.

-        Relevance and compliance to the topic (max 3 points)

-        Visual, technical and design composition (max 3 points)

-        Creative work (max 3 points)

-        Speaking skills

-        Acting ability

The Jury members will assess the competitiveness of the participants according to 0-3 scoring system for each criterion.

-        0 points – does  not meet the criteria

-        1 point –  unsatisfactory

-        2 points – not fully meet or incomplete

-        3 points – fully  meets the criteria

The video submitted in the 8-11 age group will be more easily evaluated according to the technical design criteria.

If animation, presentations, and applications are used, that participant will be given preference in the evaluation.

If two participants score the same points at the end of the evaluation, the Jury has the right to give an additional 1 point to the participant who best meets the criterion.

If a registered participant uses the vlog sent to participate in another contest or shares it on his/her personal social network accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, etc.), such participant will be excluded from the Competition and his/her result will be canceled.

If submitted video vlogs are checked by the jury and determined that it has been made by specialist, the participant will be excluded from the Competition and his participation will not be registered.

One participant (or group) may only submit a videovlog on one subtitle in common topic.

Competition period: April 25, 2020 to September 30, 2020.
